Second Attempt

Attempt #2

Yes, second attempt, here I go again.

My trouble is with downloading and sizing the picture.and I am still depending
on instruction from Daniel, who kind of passionately accepted the mentor position to teach
me.
For now I will stay with postings about food, until I have more interesting subjects
like traveling, special projects, Family gatherings, sport, etc.

The other day Windy called me for some advice what to do
with all the tomatoes she harvest from her incredible rich garden.
I am convinced that other people have the same problem.
So here is my advice :

My Tomato patch after harvesting the red ones

Core the Tomatoes and emerge them in boiling water for 15 to 20 seconds. cool them off in ice water and peel them. Cut the tomatoes in half and squeeze them lightly to get ride of most of the seeds. then there are ready to dice. Chop onions, garlic, fresh basil and fresh thyme. Saute the onion in virgin olive oil and then add 1 cup of tomato paste. Mix well and add the rest of the ingredients.Add salt and pepper to taste, coke for only 5 (five) minutes!! Fill in plastic container, let cool down, cover, label and freeze.

The incredible fresh flavor from the garlic, basil and thyme you will encounter even after the marinara sauce was frozen for months, if you do not over cook the sauce to start with.

Enjoy this final product when it snows outside

First attempt to start a Blog

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Finally I adventured into the world of blogging. It takes a lot out of me,
but I will be brave and give it a try. Hopefully, I will learn as I go.
I am a avid reader of "Neeriefluster" and "Wustenspuren" and
I enjoy them very much, which convinced me to start my own.

My life as a young retired dude is wonderful
and I have no problem keeping myself busy.

One of my daily duties is preparing Lunch for
my Pfoderie Donna, because she is working hard
out there in the business world bringing home the dough!

Here are a few samples of the Luncheons I pack for her, beside
her daily fresh fruit and Yogurt for her morning snack.

Steak Tartar

 Cob Salad

King Crab Salad

Pork Chops

Mixed Salad

I have many more selections and pictures since I
send lunch the past two Years, 5 days a week.
But I will not bore anybody with this,
maybe I will publish some later with the appropriate recipes.
