The first two and a half months of 2014 went by relatively fast and quiet, of course we had some regular events and a not exactly boring life, lets recollect:
There was Donna's birthday January 20, a super bowl party January 26, and February 11 my best friend Tony Lucero came to visit us for a few days, then we had our anniversary March 6, also we attended every one of Luke's baseball game on Saturdays in March and enjoyed Jacobs concerts.
Beside all this we had the best winter I can remember here in St Louis. Plenty of snow! We also enjoyed watching the Australian Open and the Olympics from Sotchi.
Of course we had lots of great, rich gourmet food with butter, cream, breads and sweets and the cocktails, beer, and wine where a little bit in excess. That is where the thought of healthier living came in. On his visit, Tony convinced us in trying to drink some fruit and vegetable juice daily. The result a little bit later.
I love fresh snow
Wishing for a lot more to come and getting ready to clear the drive way
This was the forth time I had to shuffle in the past weeks
My favorite Job and only activity this Winter
Just a beautiful sunrise, viewed from our living room window in the middle of February
Super bowl Party
Jacob, Luke and Grandma are more interested in there electronic
than in the boring and disappointing game
Brian's expression tell's it all
the Broncos got destroyed by the Sea Hawks and Luke
collected his winnings
Olympic opening ceremony
entrance of the USA team
and of course the Swiss
Since Donna was not feeling good on her birthday
we had her party 3 weeks later
We all had a fabulous time and Eric and Karla
joined in on the celebration.
We had plenty Bacardi and some good wine
Due to some big storms we also lost our tree in the front of the house
It also happen to be the tallest tree in the neighborhood.
I made a blackberry chocolate cake for our anniversary
Of course we had lots of visit's from Eliana
and nitro
He stayed with us for a week when Daniel, Gina and Eliana
vacationed in Cancun.
One of many of Luke's basket ball games
Luke is waiting for the ball
As I said in the beginning, here comes our new healthier living attempt. On Tony's visit, February 12, he give me some private training in juicing!! First we went to the store and bought a state of the art juice machine and then he came up with some recipes.
After a shopping trip to the grocery store he demonstrated me how to use the machine and how to produce some great juice. I am grateful for that training session and by now I am already an expert with my own recipes.
My new Juice machine
This is the preparation of 2 breakfast drinks an 2 lunch drinks
A Machine, easy and simple to work and clean
All the solid stuff discards in to the bag and you can use it for your compost!
The final product. Delicious!
We are doing this now for a little bit more than a months and I feel good about it. I am less tiered and the best part, I lost over 10 lb without exercising.
Soon it will be pool time and we can work on putting back a few pounds...but it will be fun!
ReplyDeleteCheers! Always documenting good times! So many more to come...
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the pics and how fast Eliana is growing up! Love!!!!
