CLOSE TO TOTAL RECOVERY

I know by now it is safe to say, the operation was a success and the patient is close to total recovery. With that remark I am referring to Donna. She is back gardening around the house, planting flowers and pulling weeds.

Donna loves to work in the garden

watering

and final touches

and it looks beautiful and clean.

She also re potted my avocado tree

She is back on the golf course and hits them long and straight again. Her energy is back to the point that I have to put special effort in to my action level to keep up with her.

looks like they are all waiting for me to chip on to the green
I was the only one who missed it

great swing

I am trying my best
some directional advise for Eric

Eric, the longest hitter in our group

Daniel, will excel to stardom with a little practice

Daniel and Gina invited us for dinner last week. We ventured to the main street of St Charles and visited “The Vine”, a new restaurant just opened a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was great and the food was pretty tasty except the lobster bisque Daniel ordered looked more like a new England clam chowder, all white. Daniel and Gina said they love lobster bisque, so two days later I went shopping and made my famous lobster bisque at home to the delight of Donna, Daniel and Gina. Now that was lobster bisque.

Great outdoor seating

enjoying a fabulous bottle of wine

After dinner we went back home to play Russian Rummy and consumed another few bottles of Merlot. The men finally won the game after a long drougth.

Daniel and Gina also brought me two perfectly aged 8oz beef tenderloins from their favorite butcher shop and the next day, Donna and I enjoyed a great gourmet dinner with baked potatoes, fresh asparagus and homemade Bearnaise sauce.

Last Saturday we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of our dear friend Karla's thirtieth birthday. Eric organized a surprise party for her and it worked out wonderful. I believe she had no clue! Open bar was a nice touch, but I heard Eric forget to cut it in time and had to pay a huge bill. He later went to the Casino and won everything back! (anyway, that's what I heard).

The surprise is complete

Congratulation Karla

it looks like Karla had a great time

nice weather to move the party outside

After the party Windy and Brian spent the rest of the evening at our house and we played cards again. Guess what, the men won again. Last Sunday, on fathers day, Windy and Brian came over with the Boy's and presented me with the 2012 Tiger Wood Master Video game from Augusta National Golf course.
Now on rainy day's Donna and I play some golf on the Wii and it rained a lot lately. Me, always being the underdog, need full concentration to keep up with her. Great Entertainment combined with some physical exercise.

Great game

  1. So glad Donna recovered so quickly! Father's Day at The Vine was delish, but your Lobster Bisque was awesome! You are one fine cook! ;0) I always love "too much" leftovers when Daniel and I reap the benefits! Happy Birthday to Karla! So glad we were all able to be a part of it! Cheers!!

  2. Just had a minute to catch up on your lives. Sounds like you two have been busy. I'm so glad Donna is OK and that things are pretty much back to normal. Love to you both!! Jennifer
