TRIP TO THE PINES OF NORTH CAROLINA Part 1

Lots happened since my last entry and I have some catching up to do on my blog. The latest adventure was our mini vacation to the pines, visiting all our family and friends.

Donna is Packing for our trip

Last Friday, July 22nd, Brian and Windy picked us up at 7 pm at our house in St.Charles and Brian drove all night,  815 miles with only 2 stops for gas,  all the way to Tim and Carols house in Carthage North Carolina. At 9 am, after picking up a rental car in Sanford for Donna and myself, we arrived at our destination.
We got greeted by Carol  and later on Tim and Gary took a break from their busy schedule to come to the house to make us feel welcome.

Tim came to greet us

So did Gary

Tired after a 14 hour trip

While Carol, Donna and Windy kept each other informed about all the newest happenings, Brian and I explored the surroundings around the house and we also went shopping for some beverages.

We found a new addition to their home;
a super deluxe Dog house
for Carol's little babies
Oscar, Lilly, Rose, Alvin, Penny, & Ruby

I believe, we (Brian and I) started drinking Heineken's at 11 Am that day. Tim was not much behind us that afternoon. Carol with the assistance of Aaron saved us with a wonderful delicious Dinner. We got served roast Leg of lamb, whipped potatoes and fresh green beans from their garden.
I do not remember exactly what time we went to bed that night.

On Sunday Windy and Brian left for Louisburg to see their Children. Tim , Donna and I drove to a tennis tournament about 45 minutes from there house. Aaron made it all the way to the Final.
With a little bit more luck he could have won the match.

Powerful serve

Good returns

right down the line

Full concentration

They just missed a great shot, because I called them for this picture

truly enjoying the match

Congratulation to two great players

That evening we all got treated from Tim and Carol to an outstanding dinner at Suckers in Southern Pines and we celebrated my nephew Aaron's successful tournament.

Celebrating.
