BABY SHOWER FOR GINA

Sunday, September 9th at 2pm over forty people gathered to celebrate the upcoming birth of Gina and Daniel's baby. To my knowledge, this is an American tradition and only for womrn. Of course, usually the men get together and start their own party, at least this is what happened here at Gina's shower.

The official invitation

Donna volunteered me to fix the hors d"oeuvre and I had a blast to do them, knowing it is for Gina and my future grand kid. I made 11 different varieties, 440 pieces in total.I had a great helper in Donna and she made a beautiful vegetable basket. Karla and Eric teamed up and came up with a unique fruit display featuring a watermelon crib with a baby in it. Everybody took lots of pictures. Here they are:

Donna reaching back to her old profession as a  chef garde manger
and produced a fantastic vegetable basket.

Deviled Eggs chicks

Stuffed cherry tomatoes with boursin cheese
Salami coronette stuffed with Swiss cream cheese spread.

Celery sticks with cheddar, port wine and pecans.

Fresh asparagus rolled with Bavarian ham

Shrimp salad canapes and steak tartar

Salmon pinwheels with cream cheese and capers

ready to display them on a mirror

In the front to the left : chicken salad canapes with Orange cantaloupe and
home made Chicken pate canapes with asparagus and stuffed olives

Some help from Donna before she dresses for the event

This is the fun part, when all the canapes are made

third from the right: New York steak canape with
 teardrop tomatoes and pickles.

they look really good on a mirror

Here are some picture from the party itself.  Since I was not there I had to steal them from everybody else. Enjoy:

Gina's bff Kristel was the person, who organized this fantastic party

She did on outstanding job on the table center pieces.
